// Service · Care plans

Website maintenance without the retainer trap.

Hosting, updates, backups, monitoring and a monthly allowance of real changes. Cancel any time, keep everything. A care plan should buy you a website that stays fast, safe and current, not an agency you cannot leave.

// Why most care plans are bad value

Most maintenance contracts sell insurance you never claim on

The standard agency care plan charges a few hundred a month for hosting worth about five pounds, an automated plugin update, and the vague promise of support. Ask for an actual change and you get a separate quote. That is not maintenance, that is a subscription to being ignored politely. Ours is built the other way round. Every plan includes a stated number of change hours each month, used on whatever you like: new pages, price updates, seasonal campaigns, fixing something you broke at 11pm. Unused time is visible in your portal, so you can see exactly what you are paying for. No contract, no notice period, and your site and domain remain yours throughout.

// What is included

Three things a care plan should actually do

01

Keep it running

Managed hosting, SSL, daily backups, uptime monitoring, platform and security updates, and a restore point we can roll back to in minutes if anything goes wrong.

02

Keep it current

A monthly allowance of change hours for copy edits, new pages, images, prices, staff changes, campaign landing pages and anything else that would otherwise sit on your to-do list for six months.

03

Keep it performing

Core Web Vitals monitoring, broken link checks, search visibility tracking and a quarterly note on what is working, what is slipping, and what is worth doing next.

// Search health

A neglected site quietly loses rankings

Search visibility decays. Pages go stale, competitors publish, links break, speed drifts as images pile up. None of it is dramatic on any given week, which is exactly why it goes unnoticed until enquiries drop. Care plans exist to keep that curve flat, with the technical health checks and small content updates that compound over a year.

Questions about care plans

Do I have to sign a contract?+
No. Plans are monthly and you can cancel any time. If you leave, we hand over hosting, domain and everything else. There is no exit fee and no hostage-taking.
What happens to unused hours?+
They show in your portal so you always know where you stand. Small amounts roll into the following month, but they are not a bank you build up indefinitely. If you consistently do not use the time, we will suggest a smaller plan.
We did not build the site with you. Can you still take it on?+
Usually yes. We run a short technical audit first to see what state it is in and what platform it sits on. If it is a mess, we will tell you honestly whether maintenance or a rebuild is the better use of your money.
How quickly do changes get done?+
Small changes are typically turned around within two working days. Anything larger gets scheduled and confirmed with you. Genuine emergencies, like the site being down, are handled same day.
Is hosting included?+
Yes, on every plan. That covers the hosting itself, SSL, backups and monitoring. Your domain registration stays in your name.
What is not covered?+
Full redesigns, new sections requiring fresh design work, custom development and ongoing content marketing sit outside the plan. We quote those separately so the monthly fee stays predictable.
Can we start a plan later rather than at launch?+
Yes. Plenty of clients self-manage for six months, realise nothing has been updated, and pick up a plan then. No penalty for that.
